Siena Forest

Praised for her “mesmerizing sound… (which) would rival Homer’s sirens,” soprano Siena Forest stands out for her “spunkiness and feisty vocalism.” Originally from Massachusetts, Siena relocated to the Twin Cities to join Minnesota Opera’s prestigious Resident Artist Program. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Indiana University where she studied with Carol Vaness. Recognized for her adeptness with interpreting new repertoire, Siena is a frequent collaborator workshopping and premiering new works, most recently with Minnesota Opera, Yale University, and Really Spicy Opera.

Pre-pandemic, Siena was set to perform a 9 week run as Mimì in Theater Latte Da’s production of La bohème, which has thankfully been rescheduled to January 2022. Favorite gigs include performing as Despina in Skylark Opera’s Così fan tutte with her husband, Luke Williams as Don Alfonso, premiering the role of Paula Jordan in William Bolcom’s and Mark Campbell’s Dinner at Eight with Minnesota Opera, and mingling with the audience as Galatea in Out of the Box Opera’s progressive and immersive Acis and Galatea in the iconic A-Mill Artist Lofts. Additionally, Siena has performed with Loft Recital, Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus, Lyric Opera of the North, Mill City Summer Opera, Hill House Chamber Players, Twin Cities Opera Guild, Really Spice Opera, St. Cloud Symphony, and Lakes Area Music Festival.

During the pandemic, Siena was grateful for the opportunities to safely perform with Minnesota Opera, Yale University, Loft Recital, Really Spicy Opera, Out of the Box Opera, Skylark Opera, and Lyric Opera of the North. Responding to the pandemic and the reality of the singer community suffering, she founded OOPS MN (Opera-Oriented Project Sponsorships) with Christina Christensen with a mission of supporting artists as they self-produce projects. This summer, Siena is grateful for vaccinations and for robust concert and camping schedules. She is a student of George Smith.
